Damar Group is celebrating a double success in this year’s RoSPA Awards for Occupational Health & Safety after being recognised with a Gold Award for our approach to the prevention of accidents and ill health and with a Gold Award for our Management of Road Risk. This is the fourth consecutive Gold Award for Occupational Health and Safety Damar has received and our second Gold Award for Management of Road Risk.

The RoSPA Awards scheme recognises commitment to accident and ill health prevention and is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas. It does not just look at accident records, but also entrants’ overarching Health and Safety Management Systems, including important practices such as strong leadership and workforce involvement.

David Rawlins, Awards Manager at RoSPA said: “The RoSPA Awards programme provides well-deserved recognition for the winners and spurs on other organisations to raise their standards of accident and ill health prevention. We congratulate Damar Group Ltd on its success and encourage it, and all our other winners, to remain committed to safety and health, an approach that is well recognised to be good for workers and the bottom line.”

Chris Maddox, Group Services Director for Damar Group said: “This is an excellent achievement for the team and the fourth year running our hard work and commitment to Safety has been recognised by RoSPA in this way. Thanks to everybody’s commitment, health & safety is central to our day-to-day business activities, as a result we are able to develop practical and effective solutions to staying safe. The launch of our “See it, Sort it, Report it. Don’t Walk By” incentivised hazard spotting scheme last year has played a significant role in raising safety awareness and reinforcing our message that safety is everyone’s responsibility.”
